The passenger who went missing at Wajir Airport on Wednesday last week while in transit from Somalia is yet to be traced.
Police are yet to reveal the identity of the passenger, only saying investigations are ongoing. Residents said they suspect the man is a criminal.
Police used sniffer dogs to try and trace the passenger whose luggage was left unattended.
Somalia’s Assistant Minister for Health Osman Abdi and State Minister for the presidency Mahad Salad were among those at the airport. One passenger said, “We were forced to board and alight several times. We were searched. Despite using all available security personnel, management could not trace the missing person.”
